We have made the most commonly requested data available for public access through our website. This data is not sufficiently accurate to be used for legal purposes. It is intended for general planning use only.
Data currently available on the site is in an ESRI shape file format.
For questions pertaining to data consult the data dictionary available from the previous page or as a download from the ftp site.
If you do not own GIS software a free download of ArcExplorer is available at: http://www.esri.com/software/arcexplorer
To download data:
Select the desired file. Right click on the Zip file and select Save Target As. Save
to your computer then unzip.
Parcels
For ownership information tied to the parcels you must contact the Commissioner of Revenue office at 658-4132.
Ownership information can be linked to the GIS parcels through the LSRN field.
Contours - 2 foot Elevation data
To download 2002 VGIN Imagery go to: http://gis.stafford.va.us/public/imagery/ . Click on VGIN INDEX to open PDF. Check to decide on which tiles are needed. Right click on tile and select Save Target As. Save to your computer. Each of these images is 73 Megabytes. Be certain you have sufficient disk space and ample time to download.
